Bio:
Mila Rosenthal is the Executive Director of the International Science Reserve at the New York Academy of Sciences, where she manages a global network of researchers, technologists, and scientific institutions to prepare for response to climate disasters. She currently also teaches at Columbia University as an Assistant Professor of International and Public Affairs. She is the co-founder of the climate campaigning organization Planet Reimagined. Previously, as Director of Communications and Advocacy for the United Nations Development Programme, Dr Rosenthal spearheaded public policy advocacy across 170 countries for the UN’s lead sustainable development agency. She held executive positions at Amnesty International, HealthRight International, and Concern Worldwide, and worked in countries in Africa and Southeast Asia. Dr Rosenthal’s PhD in social anthropology from the London School of Economics is based on two years of ethnographic research in Vietnam with women factory workers in the garment industry.
